Slanted Cells
Slanted Cells; R Williamson, wood scraps, brads and acrylic; 35” wide x 32” high x 1.5” deep; 8/25
A wall sculpture with a rough semi-abstracted take on the cells of a hive. Some cells, empty; some occupied; one is sealed waiting for the larva to emerge. Based on a sketchbook scribble from the past spring as I was working on a show called “the Bee Variations’. I would have liked to have shown this at the time, but it took way too long to make.
Size is 35” x 32” x 1.5”, hangs by choice of wire or a French cleat. Still finishing a few details as I type this; bringing up some highlights and adding some darks.
A bold presence with both organic and geometric components.
