Hive Ball
Hive Ball; (lower angle view w/ filter); R Williamson; wood scraps, masonite, plywood, acrylic texture, brass brads; 46” x 38” x 1.5”; 7/25
A recent wall piece with a strong black background component, ‘Hive Ball’ is a vaguely egg shaped sculpture that has several scalloped irregularities and a loose hexagonal structure. Some of the cell have a gloss clear semi-circular shapes to give a slight feeling of depth.
A single bee inspects a lower portion of the hive in the only indication that this is meant to be a peek into a hive in the wild. The size is approximately 46” x 38” x 1.5”.
Currently part of my selected pieces on display out at The Lodge at St. Edward in Kenmore, Washington.
