Forest Flood (Winter)

Forest Flood (Winter); R Williamson, acrylic and ink on rice paper and wood panels; 56” wide x 14” tall x ¾” deep; 5/26

Whether with paintings or wall sculpture, I’ve been working predominantly in vertical format over the past several years. But I’ve wanted to do some things that are VERY horizontal. So this is the first in what might become a series of panel pieces, including this one which is designed to be mounted with accordion folds.

Sticking to a very constrained earth palette for the moment. This composition includes some of the forest stump images that I’ve often used in my sculptures. Flow is intended to read as right to left, with the angles of the sapling trunks.

Size is: 56” wide x 14” tall x ¾” deep
