Big Ass Vegetable Trio

As I prepare for a wall sculpture commission for a new restaurant in Boise, ID, I came across shots of the three pieces that I made for a Seattle project during the late two thousand teens, when Dahlia Lounge did an upgrade. While I was never crazy about the final install due to placement location and background color.at the time, as separate documentation I took these shots in the studio and then grayed out the background so that the colors of the each vegetable come show itself.

The photos stayed buried in the computer file for the project. I enjoyed coming across them again; definitely a fun project. I hope that they found a good home afterwards, I try to imagine one of them gracing the wall of one of those giant modern houses with an open floor plan. The capasious home of some foodie. The restaurant had to fold during the pandemic after having a very long and successful run in downtown Seattle. Tom Douglass’s first signature restaurant, although it started in another location nearby.
