Sidewalk encounters, another day in Ballard

The way that those hands came out to get the coffee, never lifting their head or showing their face.

These encounters were all after a stormy night we had last week in the Puget Sound area. Small gestures and spare change is all I personally have to give these people who are in need of so much more. They are so vulnerable, especially as winter approaches, any encounter that recognizes their humanity is a step towards a solution. .
