Giant Sequoia Cone (drawing)

A new version of a mature cone fallen from a Giant Sequoia in the neighborhood. Drawing with a Stabilo All Surface pencil on cold press paper, after some light graphite underdrawing. Love the deep deep matte blacks that this drawing tool yields. Water soluble too which seems to heighten the depth when water is used sparingly. This particular cone is particularly odd to me and I tried to convey that here.
