Cup Jumble; R Williamson, 23” x 29”, rice paper, ink and water color on paper, 6/20

A painting on collaged paper from early in the Covid era, while looking for subject matter close at hand. Like the piles of paper coffee cups in my studio. I rinse them out and then mix paint in them, so that keeps me coming back for more americanos. Reposting since this piece just sold on my Saatchi Art page. Love it when that happens although it still amazes me that anyone can find anything in that enormous pile of images.

This was painted on 300 lb Arches hot press, with various rice papers tipped on using matte medium as an adhesive. The black is off the shelf sumi ink.
